Spanish-owned bank Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (BME:BBVA) is well advanced with talks to exit Chile after 19 years of local operations. It seems
that the financial entity has informed Santiago's Superintendencia de Valores y Seguros (SVA) of its intentions, noting that it hopes to wrap up a deal in the next 45 days. Those companies thought to be interested in buying its Chilean operations Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (SNSE:BCI), Scotiabank Chile, S.A. (SNSE:SUD AMER-A), BICECORP S.A. (SNSE:BICECORP) and Itaú CorpBanca (SNSE:ITAUCORP).
