We would like to congratulate Dr Jayne Moore, who has been elected as the President of the Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM). The post commenced this morning, 1 July 2021.

Jayne has worked at RPS for over 18 years, making an invaluable contribution to our Occupational Health business. She has been both a highly regarded clinician working alongside several of our valued clients, as well as a trainer and mentor to those entering the profession.

Jayne has been a member of the SOM since 1988, first as a GP and then throughout her Occupational Health speciality training. Since moving to Occupational Medicine, she has worked for RPS giving her a wealth of experience, within a variety of occupational sectors. She has worked regularly in the National Health Service (NHS) for the UK government, within several commercial organisations and has also held a number of posts within the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, moving from Trainee rep, to the Deputy Director of Training. She has just completed an eight-year role as the Director of Training.

Jayne's interests lie in attracting people into Occupational Health, supporting training and enabling access to this specialty, for the UK working population. With the ever-increasing need for these services since the pandemic, Jayne believes that our unique expertise can positively and quickly influence the wider medical and healthcare practice, for the benefit of all.

Following challenges since the start of the pandemic, Jayne is looking forward to a more positive year with less pressure on the Health Service and a continued positive profile for Occupational Health. For day to day practice, Jayne will support the SOM Team to continue providing prompt and relevant webinars and training.

Jayne is a highly valued member of the RPS team, with a wealth of knowledge and is always approachable, extending key support to clinicians and non-clinicians alike. We are extremely proud to wish her every success in her new role.
