The large-scale exposition is timed to coincide with the 550th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest Renaissance artists. More than 400 works are exhibited in the Nicholas Hall of the Winter Palace. The opening ceremony was attended by Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the State Hermitage Museum, and Andrey Murov, First Deputy Director General - Executive Director of PJSC Rosseti.

The anniversary exhibition will run until March 28, 2022. The exhibition is based on carvings and woodcuts, as well as examples of monumental engraving. Here you can see Dürer's own drawings, including sketches of church stained glass windows, studies for a pictorial altar, sketches for engravings and portraits.

"Erasmus of Rotterdam allegedly said that Dürer "would insult his works if he decided to add colors to them." Dürer is a great painter, but he is an unsurpassed engraver and draftsman. The exhibition is decorated with a series of multimedia creations topped with wonderful music", noted Mikhail Piotrovsky.

"Support for humanitarian initiatives, preservation of historical and cultural heritage is of great importance for Rosseti Group. The company is represented in almost all regions of our country. The priority, of course, is reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers. However, we also try to make a feasible contribution to the development of public life. Being a partner of the State Hermitage Museum is a great honor and pleasure, as it always means participation in the most ambitious and interesting events in the world of art", said Andrey Murov.

The exposition is organized by the State Hermitage Museum with the participation of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Russian National Library, the State Tretyakov Gallery, and the Yaroslavl Art Museum. VTB Bank, which was the general sponsor of the exhibition, invited its other partners - Teodor Currentzis & MusicAeterna - to prepare a "soundtrack" for the exposition, which can be enjoyed while visiting the exhibition.

Rosseti Group and the State Hermitage Museum have a long-term cooperative relationship. The first joint project was implemented in 2014 to celebrate the Museum's 250th anniversary. In recent years, the company has become a partner of the Museum at exhibitions of the creative duo of Ilya & Emilia Kabakov, masterpieces of the impressionists and modernists from the collection of the Morozov brothers and a unique multimedia exhibition on the Return of the Prodigal Son by Rembrandt.
