RESEARCH AND PRODUCTION CORPORATION UNITED WAGON COMPANY At TransRussia 2023, an international fair of transport and logistics services, warehousing equipment and technologies, RPC United Wagon Company and rail operator Logistics 1520 signed a contract for the delivery of 300 hopper cars for mineral fertilisers.
Under the contract, the operator will receive 300 mineral hopper cars, Model 19-9835-01. The freight cars will be shipped to the customer in 2024.
The combination of payload of 76.7 tonnes and body space of 101 m3 makes the 19-9835-01 car the most efficient in transporting high density bulk cargo. The increased payload allows to reduce the size of the fleet, compared to that of counterparts, required to transport one and the same load. Significant savings on the fleet size imply smaller initial investment needed to purchase the rolling stock, as well as lower tariff and service costs in future operation.
A special two-element car body coating based on vinyl copolymer provides strong protection against corrosive loads. Extended maintenance intervals of up to 1 million kilometres enable to reduce significantly operating costs throughout the car's life cycle.
The 19-9835-01 hopper car was added to the product range of the UWC Group in 2013. The share of these hopper cars in sales of mineral freight cars by Russian manufacturers from 2013 to 2022 exceeded 45%.
