Reliq Health Technologies Inc. announced that Dr. Bassma Ghali joins the team as Reliq’s new Chief Technology Officer; Mr. Lucas Smithen joins the team as Reliq’s new VP Products & Professional Services. The Company also announced the departure of Mr. Stephen Samson, who was originally hired by the Company’s former Chief Visionary Officer to take on the role of CIO. The duties and responsibilities associated with that role will now fall under the Company’s CTO, Dr. Bassma Ghali and Reliq’s cybersecurity and privacy partner, Mr. Paul McCulloch at CyberLaw NYC. Dr. Ghali is a serial entrepreneur with expertise in wearable medical device technology, software development, telemonitoring, machine learning (AI), data collection and analysis. The PRISM Lab is an academic health science centre fully affiliated with the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering (IBBME) at the University of Toronto. Mr. Smithen has over 18 years of experience in software development, product design and development, new product launch, professional services, software implementation, customer support and customer engagement. He has extensive experience in the development and implementation of mobile health applications for use in hospitals, long term care facilities, mental health organizations and outpatient clinics, and in the design of highly intuitive user interfaces for clinicians, administrators and patients. Mr. Smithen will be heading to Australia in January to support Reliq’s Australian sales team in launching the two previously announced pilots in South Australia.
