Nonthaburi - RATCH Group Public Company Limited reported to the Stock Exchange of Thailand today that the combined-cycle Hin Kong Power Plant Block 1 with an installed capacity of 770 MW, officially commenced its commercial operation on 1 March 2024. Operated by Hin Kong Power Company Limited, 51% stake owned by RATCH, the Hin Kong power plant will generate and sell 700-MW contractual electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) following a 25-year power purchase agreement. It consequents to increase more steady and stable cash flow and income for the Company.

Ms. Choosri Kietkajornkul, Chief Executive Officer of RATCH Group said that the 700-MW combined-cycle Hin Kong Power Plant Block 1 is fired by natural gas as its primary fuel which has been secured by Hin Kong Power Holding Co. Ltd., a licensed shipper granted by Energy Regulatory Commission for import of 1.4 million ton Liquefied Natural Gas annually, to supply natural gas for the entire term of the Hin Kong Power Plant's power purchase agreement. It subsequently enables the power plant to generate reliable electricity responding to power users' demand and stabilizing the country's power grid.

The Hin Kong Power Plant Project consists of two blocks of combined-cycle power plants with a total installed capacity of 1,540 MW, of which RATCH recorded an equity capacity of 785.40 MW. The construction of power plant block 2 made significant progress by 96.5%, and testing and commissioning of the gas turbine will be performed in this month. Its commercial operation will be commenced in January 2025.

At present, the company has a total electricity generating capacity of 10,848 MW comprising 8,296.52 MW operating capacity and 2,551.48 MW under-construction and development capacity.
