Chelyabinskiy truboprokatnyi zavod : ChelPipe Group and Severstal Discussed Further Cooperation Prospects

ChelPipe Group and PAO Severstal held a XX anniversary steering counsel at the Cherepovets Steel Mill's venue (part of the Severstal Russian Steel division).

During the meeting the parties outlined the results of their collaboration over the 5 months of this year: they discussed the qualitative and quantitative indicators, the discipline of supplies, vectors for further cooperation. Furthermore, the colleagues agreed on joint events aimed at improvement in the quality of rolled metal products and pipes.

'Meetings like this are very important, as they help solve both urgent issues and build long-term relations. For instance, we have agreed to jointly evaluate fabricated large-bore pipes intended for operation in active fault areas, Category X100 large-bore pipes, plan further steps to enhance these products,' said Dmitri Goroshkov, Director for Marketing, Severstal Management.

With meetings like this, we are able to both settle down commercial and manufacture issues and exchange experience in various aspects of our business. For instance, ChelPipe Groups has put in place a unique manufacture system called White Metallurgy, while Severstal is famous for its advanced methods of continuous improvement', said Denis Prikhodko, Sales Director, ChelPipe Group.

Participants of the steering counsel have agreed to update the technical cooperation program and develop an agenda for joint promotion of Severcor, a new corrosion-resistant product. The parties have noted the need to continue regular steering counsels to maintain the beneficial collaboration.

Severstal is one of the major steel suppliers for ChelPipe Group's pipe production. At year-end 2015, the amount of rolled metal supplied to white metallurgists reached about 94 thousand tons.
