20,000 households powered by green energy. Polenergia has launched the Wind Farm Piekło
Polenergia has launched the Wind Farm Piekło. This is the Group's twelfth onshore wind power plant. The WF Piekło consists of 6 turbines with a total capacity of 13.2 MW. The estimated annual production of the farm is about 40 GWh, which corresponds to the annual electricity demand of up to 20,000 households. The WF Piekło is located in the Wielkopolska region of Poland.

Four wind turbines are located in the Kwilcz municipality. The remaining two - on the territory of the Międzychód municipality. The commissioning of WF Piekło means that, Polenergia's green generation capacity from wind and photovoltaic farms increases to more than 485 MW.

Polenergia's portfolio of wind and photovoltaic farms is growing again. With the commissioning of the WF Piekło, not only is the Group's generating capacity growing, but also its ability to provide clean, green energy to our customers. Polenergia's newest wind power plant is capable of supplying up to 20,000 households with it. This is another step on our path to building a zero-carbon economy.

President of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A.

The power of individual Vestas V110 wind turbines installed at the Wind Farm Piekło is 2.2 MW. One turbine, operating at full power, in just one minute can produce the energy needed to drive an electric car as far as 200 km.

The windmills' nacelles are mounted 110 meters above the ground. The diameters of the blades are also 110 meters each. The total height of each windmill, counting with the blades, is 165 meters.

The WF Pieklo project was the winner of the auction in December 2020. Its construction began in April 2022 and was completed in August 2023 with the acquisition of a license to generate electricity.

Polenergia also has plans to launch the Wind Farm Grabowo in the near future. The power plant, with a planned capacity of 44 MW, is located in the Kolno district of Podlasie. The WF Grabowo is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.

Vestas is the supplier of the turbines and the entity providing technical service for a period of 30 years after the commissioning of FW Piekło.

ONDE S.A. was the contractor for comprehensive construction works related to foundations for wind turbines, adaptation of access roads for oversized transport, modernization of existing roads, construction of service roads, assembly platforms of assembly and electrical works and necessary civil works for two containerized RSN substation buildings along with MV cable network and fibre optic network.

Contract Engineer services during the project were provided by Bilfinger Tebodin. The construction was monitored by specialists from BIOEKSPERT, responsible for nature supervision.
