Photronics, Inc. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended July 30, 2023. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was USD 224.21 million compared to USD 219.95 million a year ago. Net income was USD 26.96 million compared to USD 31.23 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.44 compared to USD 0.51 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.44 compared to USD 0.51 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was USD 664.6 million compared to USD 614.28 million a year ago. Net income was USD 80.87 million compared to USD 81.73 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.32 compared to USD 1.35 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.31 compared to USD 1.34 a year ago.
Photronics, Inc. is a manufacturer of integrated circuit (IC) and flat panel display (FPD) photomasks. Photomasks are a key element in the manufacture of ICs and FPDs and are used as masters to transfer circuit patterns onto semiconductor wafers and FPD substrates during the fabrication of ICs, a variety of FPDs and, to a lesser extent, other types of electrical and optical components. The Company sells its photomasks to semiconductor designers and manufacturers, and manufacturers of FPDs. Photomask technology is also being applied to the fabrication of other electronic products such as photonics, microelectronic mechanical systems, and certain nanotechnology applications. The Company operates approximately 11 manufacturing facilities, out of which three are located in Taiwan, one in Korea, three in the United States, two in Europe, and two in China.
