It's a double bonanza for L&T! Two L&T entities have won the prestigious PMI South Asia Awards, the highest recognition for the project management community in the region.

The awards were conferred at the Project Management Institute South Asia Conference 2022 (#PMSAC22) hosted in Mumbai on 9-10 December.

While L&T Energy - Hydrocarbon (LTEH) won the coveted Project of the Year Award in 'Large' category for the New Water Injection South-R (NWIS-R) project it executed for ONGC at Mumbai High, the Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business earned the runner-up position in the Project of the Year in 'Medium' category for the 400kV Quad Moose Double Circuit Palamuru Transmission Line in Telangana.

Commissioned by LTEH in April, the NWIS-R process platform has the distinction of being not just the first-of-its-kind, but also the world's largest low-saline-water injection facility.

An excellent example of Atmanirbhar Bharat, it affirms L&T's ability to seamlessly execute complex mega projects - despite major challenges, such as the pandemic and the massive cyclone Tauktae.

The project was dedicated to the nation on 23 April 2022 by the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Mr Hardeep Singh Puri, in the presence of ONGC Chairman & MD Dr Alka Mittal, Director - Technical & Field Services Mr OP Singh, and Director - Offshore Mr Pankaj Kumar.

The #PMSAC22 is a celebration of the project management profession, and brings together hundreds of practitioners, Runner-up trophy for PT&D. chapter leaders, industry and business professionals from around the region. The awards recognise and honour project teams which have delivered superior results through the exemplary application of project management principles.
