NEXON Co., Ltd. has announced the nomination of Kevin A. Mayer as an external director to its board. In accordance with the Japanese Companies Act, Kevin’s election as a board member will be voted on at Nexon’s annual shareholders meeting in March 2021. Mr. Mayer is a distinguished executive in global entertainment, credited with the formation and management of successful companies in motion pictures, television, cable and streaming. As Chief Strategy Officer for the Walt Disney Company, Mr. Mayer led major acquisitions including Pixar, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm and Fox. More recently, Mr. Mayer served as COO of ByteDance Ltd. and CEO of TikTok.
NEXON Co, Ltd. is specialized in the development and publishing of interactive video games. The group offers games (MapleStory, Dungeon&Fighter, FIFA ONLINE 4, etc.) for PCs (70.9% of net sales) and mobile devices (28.4%; smartphones, tablets, etc.).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Japan (1.8%), Korea (91.1%), North America (5.4%), China (1.1%) and others (0.6%).
