The Nedap CowControl monitoring system detects four levels of heat stress: no heat stress, mild heat stress, severe heat stress and very severe heat stress. The heat stress calculation is displayed in real time every 15 minutes. In the herd overview, both the heat stress level and the duration of heat stress at pen and/or group level can be seen. The dairy farmer can then immediately take measures such as turning on the fans or sprinkler system.
