June 28 (Reuters) - Spice maker McCormick & Co said on Wednesday Chief Operating Officer Brendan Foley will take over as CEO from September.

Shares of the company, which is set to report its second-quarter results on Thursday, rose marginally to $92 in after-market trade.

Foley will succeed Lawrence Kurzius, who served as the chairman and CEO for more than seven years. Kurzius will remain the executive chairman, the company said.

Foley has been with McCormick for nine years, serving as a member of the management committee, its highest executive leadership team, since 2015.

He has previously worked at Cheerios cereal maker General Mills and H.J. Heinz. (Reporting by Granth Vanaik in Bengaluru; Editing by Sriraj Kalluvila)
