HISPANIA COMPLETES THE ACQUISITION OF 4 HOTELS IN CANARIES FOR A TOTAL OF 92 MILLION EURO
  • These hotels complements Hispania's portfolio in Gran Canaria (Maspalomas) with 1,183 keys
  • With this transaction Hispania has a total of 10,407 keys through 37 hotels, consolidating its position as the largest non-operator hotel owner in Spain

Madrid, January 19th, 2017.- Hispania completes the acquisition of four hotels to Dunas Hotels

& Resorts in Gran Canaria for a total amount of 92 million euro, including the expected refurbishment of the hotels.

Hispania has formalised the acquisition of four hotels located in Maspalomas, south of the Island Gran Canaria with a total of 1,183 keys. The transaction includes the Hotel Dunas Don Gregory (4* - 241 keys), the Hotel Dunas Suites & Villas (4* - 301 keys), the Hotel Dunas Maspalomas (4*

- 205 keys) and the Hotel Dunas Mirador (3* - 436 keys).

The acquisition of these hotels complements the vacational hotel portfolio of Hispania in the Canary Islands, strengthening its presence in the Island of Gran Canaria, where Hispania owns the Hotel Barceló Margaritas (4* - 484 keys).

As part of the transaction, Hispania acquired the mortgage debt of Dunas Hotels & Resorts, which execution was announced on April 11th, 2016. During 2016 Hispania and Dunas have been working in the different projects to renovate the hotels for a total amount of approximate 15 million euro, which includes the complete repositioning of the Hotel Dunas Don Gregory.

The current shareholders of Dunas Hotels & Resorts will remain as operators of the hotels through a variable lease contract, which will include a minimum fixed guaranteed component, and with an initial period of 10 years. The hotels had an exceptional performance during 2015, which has continued throughout 2016 with a double-digit increase in the hotels' profit vs. the previous year.
