Grupo Catalana Occidente S A : Occident, the new brand of Plus Ultra Seguros reaffirms its partnership with the Professional Association of Insurance Mediators of Almería to promote this collective

"The brand that brings together the traditional business of Grupo Catalana Occidente has extended for another year the agreement that Plus Ultra Seguros had with the Almería-based company to carry out measures that contribute to the professional development of mediation."

Occident, the new company of Plus Ultra Seguros, and the Professional Association of Insurance Mediators of Almeria have renewed their collaboration agreement in a bid to strengthen the standing of insurance mediators across the province and promote their activities in the region. Thus, the new brand that will bring together companies from Grupo Catalana Occidente's traditional business branch will continue to strengthen the commitment that Plus Ultra Seguros has initiated with the commercial development of the brokers' association.

By virtue of the collaboration agreement, both entities will continue with their work to promote mediation and introduce measures to enable these professionals to increase their expertise and improve the services they offer to their customers. The insurer will also be present at conferences, seminars and other activities promoted by the Professional Association.

The signing of the agreement took place at the premises of the Association of Insurance Mediators of Almeria and was attended by the director of the Almeria branch of Plus Ultra Seguros, José Manuel Romero; And the Chair of the Association, Elena Linares.

Romero emphasised that "mediation is one of the pillars of Plus Ultra Seguros' business model, as thanks to their professionalism and their direct contact with customers, brokers are essential in offering customised products and services."

Meanwhile, Linares appreciated Plus Ultra Seguros' involvement in mediation and highlighted that "its support is not only beneficial to our associates, but also to the sector's development". He also wanted to say a few words to Occident, "wishing the new brand every success".

Grupo Catalana Occidente announced the merging of the traditional business companies (Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros, Seguros Bilbao and NorteHispana Seguros) under a single brand called Occident. This union is part of the corporate simplification process that the insurance group put in motion years ago and aims to achieve a more streamlined organisation that responds quickly and effectively to market demands.

The unification process will be implemented in two phases: first, predictably at the end of 2023, the merger of Seguros Catalana Occidente, Plus Ultra Seguros and Seguros Bilbao will take effect, which will then operate under the Occident brand. In a second phase, at a later date, NorteHispana Seguros will also be included.
