Fuyo Lease Signed an agreement to invest in European renewable
energy business fund
Fuyo General Lease Co., Ltd (Tokyo, Chiyoda-ku; President & CEO Hiroaki Oda; hereinafter "Fuyo Lease") signed an agreement to invest in "Aquila Capital European Balanced Renewables Fund SCSp SICAV-RAIF" (hereinafter the "Fund"), an investment fund that targets renewable energy assets in Europe.
The Fund is managed by Aquila Capital Investmentgesellschaft mbH, which is owned by Aquila Capital Holding GmbH (Hamburg, Germany; CEO: Roman E. Rosslenbroich; hereinafter "Aquila Capital"), an investment and asset development company that operates and manages approximately EUR 12.3 billion (as of end of December 2021) of assets mainly in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure. The group has over 600 employees in 16 offices in 15 countries and develops and operates business rooted in the local community. They develop business activities aiming at improving overall performance and achieving ESG goals by leveraging strengths in providing one-stop services from development to investment management.
This fund invests exclusively in renewable energy projects in Europe out of the extensive assets managed and operated by Aquila Capital. It incorporates a diverse range of power source types (primarily solar, wind, and hydro) projects in several countries as investment assets.
Under the new medium-term management plan "Fuyo Shared Value 2026", which began in fiscal year 2022, the Fuyo Lease Group aims to achieve sustainable growth as a corporate group by simultaneously solving social issues and realizing economic value through the practice of Creating Shared Value (CSV). By utilizing the latest industry trends and know-how gained through investment in this fund, we aim to actively participate in the global renewable energy business, starting with the European region, which has a huge market size in the renewable energy field, and expand our multifaceted business domains in collaboration with Aquila Capital.
