Fuyo General Lease Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO Yasunori Tsujita; hereinafter "FGL") would like to announce its joint participation with ENEOS Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President Katsuyuki Ota; hereinafter "ENEOS") in the solar power generation business developed by Advanced Power AG (Zug, Switzerland; CEO Thomas E. Spang; hereinafter "AP") in the state of Texas, U.S.
With FGL and ENEOS at the center, this project will be the first initiative to carry out a solar power generation business overseas. The solar power plant is conveniently located about 60 km southwest of Houston, Texas's largest city with abundant solar exposure; and has the advantage of being close to a large demand area for electricity. The generated power will be sold through ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas).
FGL has defined "Energy and Environment" as one of its strategic domains in its medium-term management plan "Frontier Expansion 2021" and is promoting businesses that contribute to solving climate change problems. FGL is conducting renewable energy business not only in Japan but in the United States and Taiwan. In addition to aiming to continue expanding the renewable energy business, we will utilize the knowledge gained from participating in this business to promote initiatives in the renewable energy business overseas, commencing with the United States.
Fuyo Lease Group is actively participating in solving social issues and at the same time putting into practice the idea of CSV (Creating Shared Value) aiming for growth as a company and contributing to the creation of a sustainable society.
