Fulcrum, the leading independent net-zero focused multi-utility infrastructure and services provider, has been named as one of the UK's top ten utility companies to work for by the respected Best Companies organisation.

With its position in the top ten set to be announced at virtual awards event, Best Companies Live on May 21st, it will also be named as 'Best Companies to Work For' on two regional lists.

Best Companies to Work For is recognised as the standard for workplace engagement. As part of the selection process, employees take part in the organisation's b-Heard Survey, which captures their views on their wellbeing, pay and benefits, personal growth, and the leadership of the business they work for.

Additionally, Fulcrum has been recognised for the positive and supportive culture it has developed for its 339-strong workforce, particularly during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The company, which delivers new utility infrastructure and maintenance, including smart meters and the expansion of the EV charging network, remained operational during each of the lockdowns, providing its essential services to keep the country connected with stringent health and safety procedures and put a significant focus on the physical and emotional wellbeing of its employees.

With its field-based teams active across the country, its office-based people moved to home working and all were supported enhanced physical, mental and emotional wellbeing programmes.

In addition to daily activities and communications, Fulcrum also engaged with LifeWorks, an online platform that provides a range of physical and mental wellbeing resources for employees as well as appointing its first team of in-house mental health first aiders.

Being named as one of the Best Companies to Work For is such an honour and is thanks to the dedication and commitment of all our people who have excelled, particularly in the last year, which has been challenging for all businesses.

'It has always been a focus to make Fulcrum a people-led business with a truly supportive environment that drives our operations and relationships with customers. As a result, we have been able to develop a culture that was not only able to continue during the lockdowns but resulted in ever greater collaboration and support between colleagues, which ensured we all remained connected, even when working remotely.
