HAMBURG/DETROIT/CALGARY (dpa-AFX) - Opticians chain Fielmann is venturing into the USA with two acquisitions. The company is buying the U.S. optician SVS Vision with more than 80 stores and the Canadian company Eyevious Style with its online platform Befitting, as it announced in Hamburg on Wednesday. SVS Vison is valued at the equivalent of around 105 million euros, Eyevious Style at around 35 million euros - in each case excluding cash and debt.

While the Eyevious takeover is to be completed immediately, Fielmann wants to have the purchase of SVS Vision wrapped up by August 31. Thus, authorities still have to approve the deal.

The news was received positively on the stock exchange: Fielmann shares made up for their previous price losses and were most recently up around 0.3 percent, putting them in the midfield of the small cap index SDax./stw/jha/
