Rosseti FGC UES deploys holistic energy-efficient solutions at biggest substation of Northern Kuzbass

05/24/2022

An upgrade of Novo-Anzherskaya 500 kV substation, the key power supply center of the Kemerovo region, is now complete. This Rosseti FGC UES facility has been equipped with an intelligent cooling system for power autotransformers. The innovative solution will reduce power consumption for the substation's auxiliaries while maintaining high reliability of power supply to consumers.

The works were completed under the corporate Energy Efficient Substation Project, which was given national industry-wide status by the Russian Ministry of Energy in 2017. Solutions created by the Rosseti Group's own R&D center (JSC R&D Center FGC UES) are used here.

The implemented automated system controls fans and oil pumps of the substation's three autotransformers based on online equipment temperature and ambient temperature data.

The Novo-Anzherskaya 500 kV substation is the second largest power supply center in Kuzbass (1502 MVA). It feeds power to coal mining facilities in the north of the region and maintains power flows between the networks of Western and Central Siberia.

Rosseti Group has many years of experience in research and development and integrated implementation of innovative energy-saving technologies. The Energy Efficient Substation Project has already been implemented at a number of power centers, including extra-high and ultra-high voltage class facilities in the Far East, Volga Region, and central Russia: 500 kV Khabarovskaya and Nizhegorodskaya, 750 kV Bely Rast, Metallurgicheskaya and Opytnaya.
