Duro Felguera signs a contract with Hyundai Engineering and Técnicas Reunidas to manufacture a Wash Tower for a petrochemical complex in Poland

The new development of the Plock Plant is one of the largest in the European petrochemicals industry today.

Equipment delivery is foreseen for December 2022.

Friday, 17 December 2021. Duro Felguera, a Spanish company specializing in the delivery of turnkey projects and the provision of specialized services in the traditional and renewable energy, bulk handling, oil & gas, energy storage, new technologies and smart systems sectors, has been awarded a contract together with Hyundai Engineering and Técnicas Reunidas JV for the supply of a Wash Tower for the expansion project to the olefins plant at the refinery belonging to the Polish group PKN ORLEN, which Hyundai Engineering and Técnicas Reunidas are carrying out in Plock (Poland).

The Wash Tower, made of cladded steel, is almost 100 metres long, with a diameter of more than 6 metres and a weight of approximately 800 tons. Duro Felguera has been awarded this contract through DF Calderería Pesada (DFCP), the group's subsidiary specializing in the manufacture of pressure vessels for the Oil & Gas and petrochemical and nuclear industries, boasting over 50 year's experience.

Delivery of the equipment is foreseen for December 2022.

The expansion of the refinery, which is located in central Poland, will involve a combined investment of 13.5 billion zlotys (about 2.9 billion Euros). The new development of the Plock plant is one of the largest in the European petrochemicals industry today.
