FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Deutsche Borse has once again raised its forecast for 2023 following continued good business and the Simcorp takeover. An increase of approximately 15 percent to around five billion euros is targeted for net proceeds, the Dax-listed group announced on Wednesday after the close of trading in Frankfurt. Previously, company CEO Theodor Weimer had held out the prospect of an increase of at least eight percent to more than 4.7 billion euros. The target for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) was raised from more than 2.8 billion euros to around 2.9 billion euros. This would be almost 15 percent more than in 2022.

The reason for the significant increase in the earnings target is the contribution from the Danish software provider Simcorp, whose acquisition was recently completed, strong structural growth and higher interest income. The bar for profit, on the other hand, has not been raised as much, as the updated forecast includes costs for the acquisition and special charges to leverage synergy potential. The forecast for the profit is in line with the previous average estimate of experts surveyed by Bloomberg. For the profit target, Deutsche Borse is in line with expectations. However, not all analysts had yet taken the consequences of the Simcorp acquisition into account in their estimates./zb/he
