On January 13, the delivery and naming ceremony of newbuilding 28,000 DWT heavy lift vessel DA JI was held at Shanghai Shipyard. DA JI was the first of the four 28,000 DWT heavy lift vessels that were planned to be built and delivered by Shanghai Shipyard to COSCO SHIPPING SPECIALIZED. The vessel's crane is capable of lifting cargoes of 350 tons in single hanging mode and 700 tons in tandem mode.
Da Ji is characterized as a vessel with strong elevating ability, diversified loading capacity, fast speed, being environmental friendly, and good safety feature. Besides, the vessel is designed to better provide customer-tailored services of high quality, the vessel not only can load different machinery equipment, but it also can load over-length cargo, giant cargo, and extra-heavy cargo. As planned, the vessel will be deployed at Europe-Mediterranean line to further enhance the liner transport capacity.
