Continental Hires New Business Development Manager

Jakarta, Indonesia, - 25 October 2021 - Continental Energy Corporation (OTCQB: CPPXF) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the hire and appointment of Mr. Ashley J. Meier as its New Business Development Manager.

Ash is based in Vancouver, BC, and will act to identify and engage with North American and European technology providers who can offer clean fuels and low carbon footprint technology that is complementary and supplementary with the Company's petroleum fuels and biofuels to be produced at the Company's Maloy Refinery development in Indonesia.

Ash will also serve as the Company's principal media contact for inquiries from the Company's shareholders, investors, possible joint venture or business partners, the public, and other stakeholders.

Ash holds an MBA from Aalto University in Finland and has over 15 years international experience in the international financial services industry, 13 years of which was gained while living and working in Jakarta, Hongkong, and Singapore. He is a founding member of the Jakarta Ice Hockey Association.

Rich McAdoo, CEO of the Company, said of the appointment, "Ash brings a lot of strengths to the Company. His prior living and working experience in SE Asia give him a broad understanding of doing business in emerging markets in SE Asia. He has genuine enthusiasm to seek out and source strategic alliances, joint venture partners, technology providers, and investors particularly those interested in production of synfuels and enhanced biofuels by reduced greenhouse gases and low carbon manufacturing methods."

Of particular interest to us are proprietary applications in growing and processing second generation biomass and biofuels feedstocks; utilization and storage of carbon captured from exhaust gases from our refinery and biofuels processing-plants; production of fuel grade ethanol from non-food cellulosic biomass sources, and processes for the production of grey, blue, and green shades of methanol and hydrogen.
