AURORA, Ill. (AP) _ Cabot Microelectronics Corp. (CCMP) on Wednesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $34.6 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Aurora, Illinois-based company said it had net income of $1.19. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to $1.94 per share.

The chip equipment maker posted revenue of $324.1 million in the period.

Cabot shares have declined slightly more than 4% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $183.25, an increase of almost 5% in the last 12 months.
