(Alliance News) - Bradda Head Lithium Ltd on Monday named Joseph Wilkins as its new chief operating officer with immediate effect, describing him as a "highly-regarded" geologist.

The North America-focused lithium development company said Wilkins would replace Jim Guilinger as COO, bringing significant experience of working in Mexico and in the US states of Arizona and Nevada.

Wilkins was director of exploration of the Great Basin at Coeur Mining, which held assets in Nevada. He also was chief geologist, and later chief executive officer, at Aztec Minerals Corp, whose assets were in Arizona and Sonora, Mexico.

As a result, Wilkins has "extensive" experience in "porphyry (copper, gold and molybdenym), epithermal (gold and silver), magmatic (nickel and copper) and industrial minerals (boron and lithium)", said Bradda Head.

Bradda Head CEO Charles FitzRoy said: "This is an exciting time for Bradda; we have extensive programmes planned for 2023 and look forward to working with Joey, utilising his expertise across our portfolio and taking our projects forward."

Shares in Bradda Head were up 0.5% to 6.03 pence each in London on Monday at midday.
