Immediate report - Motion for certification as a class action against the Company
An immediate report is hereby issued that on October 29, 2023, a claim was received at the Company's offices together with a motion for certification as a class action filed against the Company at the Lod District (Central) Court. The motion includes two allegations:
The Company made a misrepresentation regarding the price of the internet package, since it did not show, in addition to the cost of the internet package, the monthly charge of NIS 19.90 for the router. The claim refers to subscribers to a package that included the infrastructure of the Company and another ISP provider, who subsequently purchased a new package in which the Company provides ISP and infrastructure services (from April 2022) and they continued to be charged for the router they rented from the Company, without the Company clarifying that the price that was shown does not include the router.
The Company adds customers to an antivirus service at a default monthly payment of NIS 14.90 without receiving express consent, in violation of obligations approved in a settlement in an earlier class action against the Company (for the conclusion of this proceeding in a settlement, see the Company's immediate report dated May 27, 2021).
The motion states that the amount of the class action cannot be accurately estimated at this stage, and that it is estimated at more than NIS 2.5 million.
The Company is studying the details of the claim and at this stage, it is unable to assess its chances.
