The Berkshire Bank announces the sudden passing of The President and CEO of the Bank, David W. Lukens, Jr. Mr. Lukens had been a valued employee of the Bank since 1999 serving as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President before assuming the role of President & CEO on April 1, 2019. Mr. Lukens was a financial professional possessing close to 50 years of banking experience however, to the individuals with whom he worked, he was a mentor and a friend. He will be missed.

Chairman of the Board, Moses Krausz said in a statement "On a personal note, I had the pleasure to work with Dave for decades and I considered him a friend. I am truly saddened by this loss."

The Board of Directors has elected Moses Krausz to succeed Mr. Lukens as President & CEO. Mr. Krausz served as President and CEO for 26 years before Mr. Lukens' tenure. As the Bank moves forward, it will continue to honor the work Mr. Lukens was doing in the financial industry.
