CDP upgraded Aeroflot's environmental rating 16 December 2021

CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities and states, has upgraded Aeroflot's environmental rating to "С".

Rating upgrade is a result of Aeroflot's efficiency of addressing climate agenda and provides for improvement of company's environmental image.

Tatyana Turanskaya, PJSC Aeroflot's Head of Quality Control Department, said: "Recent rating upgrade is a breakthrough for Aeroflot. Aeroflot is Russia's only carrier participating voluntarily in the CDP Project. This fact emphasizes Aeroflot's commitment and aspiration to international sustainability standards."

Aeroflot has developed and introduced a corporate system of greenhouse gas emissions management to direct and indirect emissions and to ensure compliance with ISO 14064-1.
The information is annually verified by independent external auditor.

Aeroflot is committed to environmental responsibility and has a number of environmental initiatives, including fleet renewal and the introduction of energy-efficient technologies and tech solutions.

In September 2021, Aeroflot and Gazprom Neft signed agreement to jointly develop production and use of SAF in the Russian market to enhance environmental efficiency and reduce carbon footprint of air travel. In December 2021, the airline signed a declaration to establish Eurasian SAF Alliance. The Alliance will develop a roadmap to promote sustainable fuel in Russia. The Alliance members set an ambitious goal for Russian aviation to operate first flight on SAF blend no later than 2024.
