A.P. Moeller-Maersk AS said Wednesday that at next month's annual general meeting it will propose Amparo Moraleda be elected as a new member of the board of directors.

Ms. Moraleda is a Spanish national and has board experience from international listed technology, chemical, aerospace, transportation, automotive and innovation companies and from the financial sector, Maersk said.

Currently, Ms. Moraleda serves as board member in Solvay SA, Caixabank S.A, Airbus SE and Vodafone Group PLC and has worked as chief operating officer for Iberdrola SA and as general manager for IBM Corp.

"With experience from IBM and Iberdrola, Amparo will further strengthen the board's competencies in relation to digitalization and sustainability," Maersk Chairman Jim Hagemann Snabe said.
