BERLIN (dpa-AFX) - The radiation and medical technology group Eckert & Ziegler has started the new year with growth. Sales in the first quarter rose from 57.9 million a year earlier to 67.6 million euros, as the company announced in Berlin on Monday on the basis of preliminary calculations. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to 15 million euros before special items. In the same period last year, the figure was 10.7 million euros. At the bottom line, Eckert & Ziegler, which is listed in the small cap segment SDax, also earned 8.5 million euros, more than in the previous year, when 4.7 million euros were achieved. The share price recently rose by almost nine percent.

The company confirmed its forecast for the year and still aims to achieve sales of just under € 265 million and an adjusted EBIT of around € 50 million in 2024.
