Producers of metals and other raw materials rose as traders bet the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates in the near future, following a dovish policy statement.

Gold futures, which are particularly sensitive to shifts in Fed policy, rose 1% to $2182.40.

Finnish paper producer Metsä Board's decision not to expand its folding boxboard capacity at a local site could be a positive for rivals Graphic Packaging and WestRock, said analysts at brokerage Truist.
