Toronto stocks were higher at midday Monday as transportation and health stocks lead the push in the session. Crescent Point Energy Corp. shares rose after it said that it will increase its dividend and buy back shares in 2022, and that it has also raised its daily production guidance for the year.

Canada's S&P/TSX Composite Index was up 1.02% at 20843.62 and the blue-chip S&P/TSX 60 was 0.93% higher at 1263.26.

Crescent Point Energy Corp. shares rose 6.9% to C$6.08 after it said it now expects its 2022 average production to be between 133,000 and 137,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day, up from a prior range of 131,000 to 135,000 barrels a day. raised its quarterly dividend to 4.5 Canadian cents a share from C$0.03 a share in the previous quarter said it would be accompanied by a C$100 million share repurchase program.

Other market movers:

Shares in Whitecap Resources Inc. rose by 5.6% to C$7.40 after announcing it has made three acquisitions for 342.5 million Canadian dollars, the equivalent of US$266.7 million, with the intent of consolidating its core assets in Alberta and Saskatchewan business units, and that it will launch a C$133.7 million buyback program.

Solaris Resources Inc. fell 1.3% to C$12.63 after it announced it would spin off a number of its non-core Latin American assets into a wholly-owned subsidiary.

High Tide Inc. shares fell 1.3% to C$6.94 after it said that is looking to raise 40 million Canadian dollars, the equivalent of US$31.1 million, by offering equity in its treasury to the public over time.
