International stocks trading in New York closed lower on Friday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 1.8% to 154.25. The European index fell 1.1% to 138.80. The Asian index fell 3% to 203.37. The Latin American index declined 0.6% to 173.89. And the emerging-markets index fell 3.5% to 332.56.

DiDi Global Inc. was among those whose ADRs traded actively.

DiDi Global Inc.'s ADRs fell 22% to $6.07 after the company said it plans to delist its shares in the U.S. and pursue a listing in Hong Kong, a dramatic reversal just months after the Chinese ride-hailing group's ill-fated initial public offering in New York. Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. fell 8% to $111.96; JD.com Inc. fell 8% to $77.95; Baidu Inc. fell 8% to $137.39; and NetEase Inc. fell 7% to $100.05.
