European ADRs Move Lower in Tuesday Trading

(MT Newswires) -- American depositary receipts of European stocks were trading 1.2% lower at 960.21 on the S&P/BNY Mellon Europe Select ADR Index on Tuesday.

In continental Europe, the gainers were led by biotech firm Zealand Pharma (ZEAL) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications (SQNS), which climbed 8% and 4.7%, respectively. They were followed by biotech company BioNTech (BNTX) and internet browser company Opera (OPRA), which rose 2.2% and 1.3%, respectively.

The decliners in continental Europe were led by 3D printer company voxeljet (VJET) and telecommunications company VEON (VEON), which fell 6% and 4.5%, respectively. They were followed by biotech firm Forward Pharma (FWP) and biopharmaceutical firm Cellectis (CLLS), which retreated 4.2% each.

In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which added 1% and 0.9%, respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and communications company WPP (WPP), which were up 0.4% each.

The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical firm Amarin (AMRN) and construction materials supplier CRH (CRH), which lost 5% and 4.5%, respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical firm Avadel Pharmaceuticals (AVDL) and software firm Endava (DAVA), which retreated 3.1% and 2.8%, respectively.
