WIZZ AIR : ANNOUNCES FURTHER EXPANSION IN CLUJ-NAPOCA

Wizz Air, Europe's fastest growing and greenest* airline announced expansion of its Romanian operations, adding one new Airbus A320 aircraft to the Cluj-Napoca base. This will enable the start of 3 new routes from Cluj-Napoca to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden,Hamburg and Cologne in Germany and increase of frequencies on 9 existing routes from Cluj-Napoca to Eindhoven, Barcelona El Prat, Brussels Charleroi, Larnaca, London Luton, Madrid, Milan Bergamo, Paris Beauvais, Rome Ciampino. Seats for the new routes can already be booked on wizzair.com or on the airline's app from as low as RON 69**.

The further development of Wizz Air's offering from Cluj-Napoca underpins the airline's long term commitment to bring evermore affordable and greener travel opportunities to its Romanian travellers. Wizz Air started flying to Cluj-Napoca in 2007. The airline has carried almost 2 million passengers to and from that city in 2019. The aircraft allocation will create 36 new direct jobs. With this investment Wizz Air will contribute to economic development and create hundreds of new jobs in the local job market***. With today announced routes Wizz Air offers now 34 routes to 13 countries from Cluj-Napoca.

Wizz Air is a financially stable, investment grade credit rated airline flying a young and modern fleet with an average age of 5 years, comprising of 134 most efficient and sustainable Airbus A320 and Airbus A320neo family single aisle aircraft. This growth comes with the new era of sanitized travel, with Wizz Air having led the industry restart by saying 'yes to flying' and implementing stringent health and hygiene measures to protect passengers and crew. Whilst the HEPA filters of all Wizz Air aircraft already filter out 99.97% of viruses and bacteria from the air, Wizz Air's new protocols support physical distancing guidelines, ensure an ultra-clean environment on board and reduce any non-essential human interaction and physical contact, so that WIZZ passengers can feel confident that they are travelling to their destination safely.
