ROME, April 13, 2022 - Webuild will host on April 20 "Concerto Barocco", an extraordinary concert of Baroque music that celebrates the period of greatest splendour for Genovese art between the 1600s and 1700s. Maestro Antonio Pappano will conduct the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia inside the splendid Sant'Agnese in Agone Church in Piazza Navona in Rome. Beginning at 9:00 p.m., the concert will be streamed live on Webuild's website, and projected on the façade of the church, and Palazzo Ducale in Piazza de Ferrari in Genoa.

The concert promises to be a memorable evening of music inspired by the great Italian composers of Baroque music, brought to life under the supervision of Maestro Sir Antonio Pappano, Musical Director of the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and the Covent Garden Royal Opera House in London. The programme will have works of this period by Vivaldi, Corelli and Haendel, a homage to these three master composers of the most fervent period of the Baroque age: Concerto "La Primavera" and Concerto in si minore per 4 violini e violoncello, op. 3 n. 10, of Vivaldi; Concerto Grosso op. 6 n. 9 in fa maggiore of Corelli; and Haendel's aria "Lascia la spina" from "Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno" and "Al dispetto di sorte crudele" from "Aminta e Fillide".

The Baroque concert is one of a number of initiatives of the "Superbarocco" cultural project dedicated to Genovese Baroque, for which Webuild decided to support the City of Genoa and the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome. The concert follows the March 25 inauguration of the "Superbarocco. Arte a Genova da Rubens a Magnasco " exhibition at the Scuderie del Quirinale. The exhibition is the result of a collaborative effort between the Scuderie del Quirinale and National Gallery of Art di Washington, D.C., with special collaboration from the City of Genoa and its museums, as well as Webuild. It offers the opportunity to see dozens of masterpieces from prestigious museums from around the world and private collections. It runs until July 3. Webuild is also main partner of the "La Forma della Meraviglia. Capolavori a Genova tra il 1600 e il 1750" exhibition at the Appartamento del Doge di Palazzo Ducale, which runs until July 10. Both exhibitions are curated by Jonathan Bober, Piero Boccardo and Franco Boggero.
