(MT Newswires) -- Telecommunications operators Vodafone Group (VOD.L), Orange (ORA.PA), Telefónica (TEF.MC) and Deutsche Telekom (DTE.F) signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in implementing the Open Radio Access Network, or Open RAN, for mobile networks.

Under the terms of the deal, the four will help new and existing ecosystem partners and collaborate with European policymakers to push Open RAN forward, in order to compete with already existing RAN offerings.
