SUGAR LAND, Texas (AP) _ Trecora Resources (TREC) on Tuesday reported a first-quarter loss of $4.4 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Sugar Land, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 18 cents.

The petrochemical company posted revenue of $54.6 million in the period.

Trecora shares have climbed 9% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $7.62, an increase of 44% in the last 12 months.
