TERNA: NEW INFORMATIVE EVENTS ON THE MODERNISATION AND REDEVELOPMENT WORKS OF THE CASSANO - CHIARI POWER LINE

Monday 30 May in Chiari (BS) and Tuesday 31 May in Treviglio (BG), from 16:00 to 20:00

In view of the start of the works scheduled for the month of July, Terna's engineers will be on hand to speak with local residents to discuss the works and answer questions.

Rome, 25 May 2022 - Terna is holding two public events to present the works to modernise and redevelop the power line between Cassano d'Adda and Chiari between the provinces of Milan, Bergamo and Brescia, in view of the works scheduled to start this July.

The first event will be held in Chiari (BS) on Monday 30 May at Museo della Città in Piazza Zanardelli, while the second will be in Treviglio (BG) on Tuesday 31 May at Spazio Meno Uno in Piazza Garibaldi.

Both events will run from 16:00 to 20:00. Terna's engineers will be on hand to respond to residents' questions and general observations about the works, and provide information on the project's time lines and methods.

The events are part of a broader engagement project held by Terna with the region: throughout the authorisation process, Terna has held meetings with the local authorities affected by the works as well as informative events aimed at the general public.

The project, in which Terna will invest around € 60 million, includes upgrading the existing power line, which extends for around 36 km between Cassano d'Adda and Chiari, from 220 kV to 380 kV. The project will be carried out at the same time as the Brescia-Bergamo-Milan(BRE-BE-MI) motorway connection and around 60% of the new power line will follow the existing one, affecting the municipalities of Cassano d'Adda (MI), Casirate d'Adda (BG), Treviglio (BG), Calvenzano (BG), Caravaggio (BG), Bariano (BG), Romano di Lombardia (BG), Covo (BG), Antegnate (BG), Calcio (BG), Urago d'Oglio (BS), Rudiano (BS) and Chiari (BS). The first works will be conducted in the municipalities of Chiari and Urago d'Oglio.

All the information about the meetings as well as the project documentation is available on the Terna website: www.terna.it.
