Fact Sheet: Target Encourages Civic Engagement Among Team Members and Guests

Since its founding, Target has encouraged team members and guests to exercise their democratic rights, believing that ongoing civic engagement is an important part of our democracy, and a way to ensure everyone's voice is heard. Some of the ways Target supports the more than 350,000 Target team members in their civic engagement efforts include:
Providing all eligible team members with paid time off to vote and serve as election judges.
As an active corporate citizen, Target joined the Civic Alliance's Election Day of Service to help address the country's urgent need for election judges and safe, accessible elections in 2020. As part of this effort, Target has recruited more than 1,400 poll workers for the 2020 election. Target also works with individual team members to ensure they have the time off they need to vote in local, state and federal elections.
Offering team members voting and civic engagement resources, as well as opportunities to learn about and discuss important issues.
Through Citizens@Target-a team member network providing information on issues impacting the business and actions we've taken-Target has created a space for team members to learn about and discuss issues and access resources on voting and the civic process. Team members can also learn about issues affecting Target and actions Target has taken and how to communicate with their elected representatives.
Supporting nonpartisan efforts to raise awareness of elections and encourage fair, accessible and safe voting.
As an active corporate citizen, Target's partnered with a number of national organizations to promote voting outside the company, including: League of Women Voters, Civic Alliance, Time to Vote, National Voter Registration Day, and National Day of Service.
In partnership with the League of Women voters, Target created Vote411.org/Target, which has everything needed to get started in the voting process, including information on how to register, check your voter registration status and find out what's on your local ballot.
