PHOENIX (AP) _ Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO) on Tuesday reported second-quarter earnings of $432.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the Phoenix-based company said it had profit of 56 cents.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 95 cents per share.

The miner posted revenue of $2.31 billion in the period.
