SONDA : revenue grows by 3.6% to reach US$ 309 million for the first quarter of 2017

April 25, 2017.SONDA, the leading Latin American Information Technology company, reported its results for the first quarter of the year, where the company's consolidated revenue increased by 3.6% to Ch$ 205,168 million, equivalent to US$ 309.0 million. This increase came principally from operations outside of Chile, which contributed growth of 6.0% by producing revenue of Ch$ 117,663 million, equivalent to US$ 177.2 million.

EBITDA was Ch$ 21,737 million, equivalent to US$ 32.7 million. Operations in Chile and Mexico, performed well producing EBITDA margins of 17.0% and 14.7%, respectively. Operations in Brazil produced a recovery in EBITDA margin, compared to a weak fourth quarter in 2016.

Dynamic commercial growth was seen in the volume of business closed, which increased significantly by 53.4% to reach US$ 366.5 million, driven particularly by increased volumes in Brazil, where growth of 245% was recorded for the quarter.

The pipeline of business opportunities totaled US$ 3,026.5 million, up 80.9% compared to March 2016. Again the strongest increase was found in the pipeline for Brazil, which climbed to US$ 1,583 million, up 110% compared to March 2016.

Mr. Raúl Véjar, CEO at SONDA, referred to these results when he said that 'the figures for the first quarter are still influenced by the complex political-economic situation in Brazil, which has negatively affected our performance'. However, he added that 'we are beginning to see that our business is recovering in that country, where the improvement in the volume of business closed gives us a more optimistic perspective from the second half of 2017. This is reinforced by an increase in the business pipeline compared to the first quarter of the previous year, which is encouraging news'.
