SOCIEDAD QUÍMICA Y MINERA DE CHILE S.A. The "Ministerial Declaration" from Australia details the conditions for the development and operation of the lithium hydroxide plant in Kwinana.
"Covalent Lithium, the joint venture (50/50) with our partner Westfarmers has received ministerial declaration under the Western Australia Environmental Protection Act 1986," SQM said in a statement.
The project has an expected initial production capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes of battery grade lithium hydroxide, and its first production is expected in the second half of 2024.
