Here at Severfield, the mental health of our workforce is treated as significantly, and is just as important, as their physical safety. We host an Employee Assistance Program for our workforce and recognise help is sometimes needed to deal with the challenges our employees may face in life, both practically and emotionally.

There are around 6,250 suicides every year in the UK, over 5,000 of which are men.

The construction industry is predominantly male and can be a tough sector when it comes to talking about emotions and mental health. It's imperative that we speak up and reach out to ask for help when we need it, or even support our colleagues and friends in a time of need.

Watch this emotive video which has been released as a free resource to highlight the issue.
