Last month one of our Design Engineers, Gary Sherrard - along with his friend Scott - raised vital funds and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease Association, Parkinson's UK and Marie Curie UK and the IRFU Charitable Trust . Over 7 days they both walked a total of 205 miles in the rain, sun, wind and traffic for these great charities.
They raised an amazing £24,921.88 and their target was £4000. The Severfield Foundation were happy to support Gary and donated £500 to help reach their target.
Each evening they finished at a rugby club, having walked at least 26 miles:
- Sunday - Omagh RFC to City of Derry RFC - 33 miles
- Monday - City of Derry RFC to Coleraine RFC via Limavady RFC - 27 miles
- Tuesday - Coleraine RFC to Ballymena RFC via Ballymoney RFC - 27 miles
- Wednesday - Ballymena RFC to Instonians/Cooke RFC via Ballyclare RFC & Ophir RFC - 34 miles
- Thursday - Instonians/Cooke RFC to Banbridge RFC via QUBRFC & Lisburn RFC - 26 miles
- Friday - Banbridge RFC to Dungannon RFC via Portadown RFC - 28 miles
- Saturday - Dungannon RFC to Omagh RFC - 30 miles
