(Alliance News) - Sanderson Design Group PLC on Thursday said it has agreed a major licensing agreement with J Sainsbury PLC.

Sanderson Design is a Denham, England-based luxury interior furnishings company that designs, manufactures and markets wallpapers, fabrics and paints. It also receives licensing income from the use of its designs on a wide range of products such as bed and bath collections.

The company said Sainsbury's Habitat Homewares and Tu clothing brands with collaborate with Sanderson's Morris & Co and Scion brands to create a range of licensed products.

The deal, the company's first with Sainsbury's, will see Habitat launch homeware products which feature Morris & Co and Scion exclusive designs and colourways.

The Scion products are set to be launched in spring 2024, while the Morris & Co products will be released in the following autumn.

Tu will work with Scion on womenswear and children's clothing ranges, also for launch in spring 2024.

Chief Executive Officer Lisa Montague said: "Today's announcement marks the second major licensing agreement that we have signed this year, demonstrating the strength of our brands and collaborative capabilities along with the attractive financial contribution that licensing delivers for the group."

Paula Nickolds, general merchandise commercial director at Sainsbury's said: "Habitat and Tu are both design-led brands, so our collaboration with Sanderson to bring customers products featuring iconic prints and colourways from Morris & Co. and Scion feels a natural fit. We are always looking for more ways to offer our customers a range of designs at affordable prices and we are confident they will love the products we've come together to create."
