Rosneft Oil : Enterprises Commended at Green Spring 2021 Creative Contest

Novokuibyshevsk and Saratov refineries, Rosneft Oil Company's oil refining enterprises, have won awards in nominations Best Video and Green Line of a creative contest held as part of the Green Spring 2021 national environmental campaign.

Rosneft participates in environmental initiatives every year. This year, the Green Spring was attended by employees of the Company's Headquarters and more than 50 subsidiaries.

Novokuibyshevsk and Saratov refineries were laureates in two nominations out of three in the creative contest 'I am a participant of Green Spring 2021'. The organising committee of Green Spring commended the relevance of the themes and creativity in the entries submitted. For instance, according to the jury, Novokuibyshevsk refinery's video addresses the issue of 'ecological education and upbringing of the younger generation'. Saratov refinery's Green Line entry highlighted the topic of environmental volunteering at the plant in the most vivid way.

Novokuibyshevsk and Saratov refineries took an active part in Green Spring, with over 5,000 employees, their family members and veterans taking part in large-scale environmental actions. The environmental volunteers held clean-up days in their towns, organised a campaign to clean up the banks of the Volga River, took part in a litter pick-up plogging run in park areas and planted trees in citizens' walking areas.

Novokuibyshevsk and Saratov refineries have an Integrated Management System in place that complies with ISO 14001 environmental standards. The enterprises carry out large-scale work to introduce energy-saving technologies, raise the level of environmental culture in the territories where they operate, and promote ideas on environmental protection.

The Green Spring 2021 national environmental campaign is an annual project implemented by the Vernadsky Non-Governmental Environmental Foundation. This year, the Green Spring 2021 national environmental clean-up took place on April 24 through May 24.
