Roche Holding AG said Friday that the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices gave special approval for its SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen test for at-home use.
The Swiss pharmaceutical major said the test collects samples from the front area of the nose instead of the nasopharynx and can be performed at home with results available in 15 minutes.
