Renault 5 Prototype was voted 'Concept Car of the Year' by Car Design News

Renault 5 Prototype has been voted Concept Car of the Year by an expert panel of designers in the prestigious industry design book, Car Design Review. The Renault 5 was matched against a short list of cars launched between March 2020-2021 and voted for by designers from rival car makers.

The judges praised the Renault as being a 'beautiful mix between retro design and the modern reincarnation of an iconic car of the past' and a 'concept that is very well executed and successfully translates the original.'

Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence award 2021 (EVIE)

Renault Master E-Tech electric has won 'Best New Product or Service,' at the highly respected Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence (EVIE) awards 2021. The Master E-Tech was celebrated for being the UK's first ever fully-electric ambulance, converted by Blue Lights Services.

The award was given to Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the HATS Group (Healthcare And Transport Service) for being the first in the UK to add a fully-electric ambulance to their fleet of ambulance and special needs patient transport vehicles.

Clio wins 'Best First Car' and RCI 'Best New-Car Finance of the Year' at Parkers New Car Awards

The Clio has taken home the award for the 'Best First Car' for the second year in a The jurors were particularly impressed by the Clio's interior, which they described as high quality, well-designed and packed with the latest technology.

RCI were also award the 'Best New-Car Finance of the Year 2022' by Parkers for the simple nature of its finance offer across the range and the widespread availability of 0% APR Representative on PCP offers.

Connected Technologies at Renault: FOTA (Firmware Over The Air)

Since 2020, the Software Factory, an entity within Renault Group that specialises in software engineering launched Renault's FOTA project (Firmware-Over-The-Air), whereby Renault Group vehicles can receive remote updates. Like smartphones, the operating system that runs the car's multimedia screen and instrument panel is equipped to receive regular updates. These include patches and improvements for the in-car entertainment system and sometimes even brand-new features.

The recently unveiled All-New Megane E-Tech Electric will see FOTA technology reach another milestone with new additional capabilities for on-board upgrades. For example, the welcome sequence will have the ability to change in the future, with new lighting and sound effects. The OpenR screen and OpenR Link multimedia system will also receive regular updates to optimize the way they operate. Updates from Google will also be included. For example, the Google Assistant will receive FOTA updates including the addition of new languages or the ability to apply filters on GPS search results. For instance, when searching for an charging station nearby, drivers can use voice-commands to narrow down results to display only fast charging stations that accept specific payment methods of their choice.

Over the course of its life, the All-New Megane E-Tech Electric will also receive updates for new features, be it for the ADAS or life-on-board systems.
